The drivers of the 2017 World KZ Championship competed in two more Qualifying Heats on Saturday afternoon at Wackersdorf before concluding on Sunday morning with their last two races. It started to rain from Heat A-D, with a few big drops. The start was given on slicks, with markedly diminished grip. Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM) escaped quickly followed by Patrik Hajek (Kosmic / Vortex). Jordon Lennox-Lamb (Tony Kart / Vortex) took 3rd ahead of Ben Hanley (Croc Promotions / TM), while Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) went off the track while 5th. Simo Puhakka (Kosmic / Vortex) came back very strongly on the leaders and took the lead two laps from the finish. Hajek finished 2nd in front of Abbasse who did not take many risks to counter them. 4th place went to Jorrit Pex (CRG / TM) ahead of Bas Lammers (Sodi / TM).
The last heat of the day (B-D) was also held in the rain, but all the drivers had put on rain tyres. Fabian Federer (CRG / TM) was overtaken by Jeremy Iglesias (Formula K / TM) on the last lap. But Paolo De Conto (CRG / TM) rose like a rocket to win against the Frenchman. Federer kept 3rd place, Marijn Kremers (Birel ART / TM) finished 4th, followed by Davide Foré (Righetti / TM) and Flavio Camponeschi (CRG / TM) in 6th.
In the provisional ranking, Hajek beat Abbasse, Iglesias and De Conto were elbow-to-elbow ahead of Federer 5th, Puhakka was 6th, Kremers 7th and Lennox-Lamb 8th.
